Hi, I'm Shawna.  I help social justice leaders and organizations bring bold, liberatory visions into daily practice—with care, compassion and ease

Are you yearning to (re)connect with the soul and spirit of your work? Do you long to take your big, transformative visions and practice them every day? Are ready to find your way towards these visions with more grounding, ease and joy? Are you curious about how courageously choosing loving moves can help you to navigate complexity and conflict?  Me too.

I am a social justice facilitator, educator and strategist on gender and racial justice, and an embodiment guide and practitioner. With over twenty five years of experience supporting transformation in the inner and outer work of organizations and movements, I understand the deep desire to create more impact with our wholeness in tact. Here's how I work with pragmatic visionaries, like, perhaps you:

  • Guiding your group to remember your collective purpose, vision and place in the ecosystem as part of strategic processes.

  • Guiding individuals to remember the spirit and soul of your work, and to help your leadership practice to reflect feminist and anti-racist values.

  • Designing emergent learning initiatives to strengthen collective reflection, learning and action on deeper questions and aspirations.

  • Researching and creating resources on intersectional social justice approaches and collective care to strengthen our ecosystem's knowledge base and impact.

What People Say

Alex Gordon,

WEDO Manager, Policy & Development Manager

"Shawna was absolutely pivotal in helping with my professional and personal growth during one-on-one sessions together. We spent time working through tough conversations and resetting boundaries in the workplace. She was so gentle and caring in my unlearning of learned behavior and expectations of overwork. Shawna also helped me to scenario plan for future work and academic prospects, providing really grounding yet affirming questions and practices. I feel so much more confident in stepping into leadership roles, speaking up for myself, and setting better workplace boundaries after just a few sessions with Shawna."
